Day 1: Friday – Longreach

Adventure to the legendary outback town of Longreach for an action-packed ‘Pubs & Stations tour.’ You’ll be met at Longreach Airport by our Savannah Guides Operator Driver for the short drive to Ilfracombe. Founded in 1891, it was a transport hub for Wellshot Station which at the time held the largest number of sheep on any station in the world. We’ll cap off the tour with an authentic pub welcome lunch at the historic Wellshot Hotel. Return to Longreach for check-in at your accommodation.

For yet another slice of Aussie history, we’ll visit Camden Park Station, a 5th generation sheep & cattle station for a station sunset tour. You’ll be in good company as the Queen visited this family homestead 30 odd years ago!

Then back in town, get ready for 20 minutes of awesomeness at the Luminescent Longreach Sound & Light Show. The historic aircraft in the Airpark double as the canvas for this amazing show. Featuring high-tech 3D animation and illustrations, you’ll be taken on a fascinating narrative of Australia’s aviation history. Option for Dinner tonight at a local favourite, The Birdcage Hotel (own cost).

Overnight Longreach

Day 2: Saturday - Longreach

Your visit to the Qantas Founders Museum this morning is sure to be a highlight! The unmistakable red and white livery of a Qantas jumbo jet dominates the skyline from kilometres away. Inside the dedicated museum, you’ll uncover many a story linked to the founding of our national airline. View marvellous interpretive and interactive exhibits then join a guided Airpark Tour for a behind the scenes look at the resident DC-3, Boeing 747, Boeing 707 and Super Constellation. Own arrangements for lunch at the onsite café before a town tour and some free time in downtown Longreach.

Late afternoon, you’ll be transferred to the Thomson River for the award-winning Drover’s Sunset Cruise. Take your seat on the top deck ready to capture 360- degree sweeping, river and floodplain views at sunset. We’ll dock at Smithy’s for the entertaining Outback Dinner & Show. Enjoy full table-service as you dine on a delicious camp oven themed dinner under the stars! (Drinks may be purchased from the bar). Overnight Longreach

Day 3: Sunday – Longreach

This morning, you’ll be welcomed at historic Rosebank Station for a hearty recovery breakfast with owners Alan & Sue Smith. Rosebank Station was originally settled as a sheep and cattle station some 100 years ago. Tour the homestead and see the room that was fit for a princess!

Last stop today will be the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame. See the new Cinematic Experience which pays tribute to the Aussie Stockman and wander the five themed galleries. Own arrangements for lunch at the Museum café before your transfer to Longreach Airport for your return flight home.
